Hi Lesley, I recently completed your Teddy Gurd Birth Sampler which was featured in World of Cross Stitch magazine for my nephew, and have the Ballerina Bear Birth Sampler to do for my neice but have found out that my sister-in-law is expecting again. Do you take commissions at all as I would like a third bear, in a similar but slightly different pose to the Guard bear, possibly with a different background so that they are all similar.

    • Hi Lisa, these new babies are going to keep you busy! Both of the samplers you mention were a delight to design. I can’t help you with another chart like the teddy soldier as the cost for designing a ‘one- off’ chart would be too high. Can I suggest that you take a look at the images from my latest book, ‘Cute baby Models’ – that I have just posted – as one of the designs does have a soldier, unfortunately not a teddy, but perhaps as a change one of these designs may be a good alternative? I am going to try and set up a system on my website to sell charts and books, but at present I just haven’t had the time. I will though let everyone know ASAP when and where this publication can be bought. Lx

Sorry! I mean, I want to work cloth, (perforetted fabric)

    • Hi Tulin

I wish I could speak, let alone write in a foreign languages as well as you. I’m sorry you can’t find the Aida fabric where you live. The best place would be a shop that sells needlework items. Perhaps you can contact the Turkish: Yayincilik or Yayincilik. They may be able to help.

Hi Lesley, hoping you can help me. I have used your counted cross stitch nursery alphabet p5083 for our first granddaughter on a blanket, I now want to make another one for our sons first child but unfortunately cannot find the symbols /thread key. DMC say the book is now out of print, is it possible you have a copy I could use?
Many thanks Margaret Dandy, Chorley, Lancs.

    • Hello Margaret, I will certainly help if I can. I will though, need a picture – even if it is a section from the alphabet. If you can attach this image to your email for me, along with details of the number of colours used, including back stitch / French knots / beads and I can see if I can sort out a colour scheme for you. As this chart has been designed for a DMC book I may not have the details any more.
Do you have access to the first blanket and could perhaps check the colours against skeins of colour? If not then perhaps give me a suggestion for a colour scheme, i.e……… and mauves / pinks and greens, etc.
I hope this is of help. I’ll look forward to hearing from you,

        Hi Lesley,
Many thanks for replying so quickly, I have however found the symbol chart-well hidden in my work box-a case of too much wood not tress!!! I can now start the second blanket to be ready for August. Thank you Margaret.

  5. I’m sitting at the computer working on a deadline for tomorrow!! So pleased to hear that you can proceed with the blanket for your new grandchild Margaret……………I’ll also be a grandmother again in September…………they are very special occasions,

Lesley, Thank you for your amazing designs. I have just downloaded the 3rd flower design of the bluebells from your blog. I am trying to get the first 2 designs as well. Is there anyway you could perhaps e-mail them to me. The bluebells are GORGEOUS I can’t wait to stitch those and get the other 2 and do those as well. I certainly would appreciate it. I also want to thank you for your dedication to all of your fans and your hard work. You are 1 in a million.
    Warmest wishes,
    Penny Springs

    • Hi Patricia, I’ll be in touch with you later, but for others who might like to stitch the previous flower hearts, then scroll down the list of designs to January 13th for tulips and then further still, to almost the start on my blog, to May 4th 3013 for narcissus. I have recently had a request for foxgloves so I’ll try and get that out ASAP.
Happy stitching to you all, Lx

Lesley, I have tried to find the designs the Blackwork Lady and the Blackwork Angel and have had no luck at all. I have tried everywhere I know to try. I even tried to get the back issues of the magazines to get the patterns and they are both sold out. Is there any way you could send me the patterns? I would absolutely love to stitch them and you are the only other person I know where I could get the patterns. I hate to ask but I don’t know what else to do. I will be more than happy to pay expenses. If you could send them PDF that would be wonderful. I am so excited to stitch those and this would be my first experience in doing blackwork. Any assistance you can give me would be greatly appreciated.
    Warmest wishes,
